Healthy Day at MDI High School

posted May 27, 2011, 12:13 PM by Sue Hersey
Many thanks to the National Honor Society students for a wonderful time at the high school.  All fourth graders on the island went to MDI High School for the morning.  We were in four different groups and had a lot of fun doing: relay races, obstacle course, playing football , a scavenger hunt all around the high school to find places mentioned in puzzle clues, and enjoying a healthy snack while painting a mural.  All the activities were to promote exercise as part of healthy living.  Our snacks were peanut butter on graham crackers, apple slices, bananas, goldfish, pretzels and water. YUM!

We had lunch in the cafeteria and then the NHS students put on skits for us to remind us of other aspects of healthy living; such as, getting 8 hours of sleep, brushing your teeth regularly, eating healthy foods, and using sunscreen.

We had a great time and appreciate all the NHS students did for us.
