Science: Animal Classification

posted Oct 12, 2011, 12:51 PM by Sue Hersey
Last Friday we had a field trip to Great Head Trail for a park program on Acadia Animals.  We learned a lot about the endangered species of the Peregrine Falcon and the Beaver here in Acadia National Park.

As we hiked the Great Head Trail we took turns in groups of three reading and answering questions to learn more about the Peregrine Falcon.

After lunch, we learned about the special adaptations of the Beaver and then took a short walk to see some beaver chew and an abandoned lodge.

It was fun to have science class outside of the classroom.  The rangers taught us so much.
