Social Studies: Community Building

Our first Co-op Learning Team Challenge was to build the tallest structure that would hold up a marshmallow using only 20 dry spaghetti noodles, a yard of masking tape and a yard of string.  We had only 20 minutes to create this structure together.  It was a challenge to listen to all the ideas of our group members and then to work together to create the structure.  Each team was able to create a structure that held up the marshmallow and Blockminers had the tallest structure in the end.  Learning to listen to ideas, plan and work together on a project like this will help us work together in learning other subjects in school in the future.   Working collaboratively is fun!
