Social Studies: Life in Maine in the 1800s

We had an Acadia National Park field trip to the Carroll Homestead in Southwest Harbor.  The rangers taught us all about what life was like living here on Mount Desert Island in the 1800s.  We had a tour of the inside of the house and also the grounds around the homestead.  We even made our own butter to have for our snack and it was delicious.  After lunch, we had time to play with some of the toys children played with in the past, too.
