We enjoyed an Acadia National Park program at the Carroll Homestead in Southwest Harbor.  We traveled back in time and then explored outside and inside the Carroll Homestead.  We listened to Ms Joan Grant, a descendant of the Carroll family, tell stories of her ancestors.  We had our own Carroll descendant in our class, Jacob, whose great, great, great, grandfather was Jacob Lurvey.  His daughter, Rachel Lurvey, married John Carroll the builder of the Carroll Homestead.
We also played games that children might have played back then.  We looked at artifacts and discovered  how they were used in the 1800s.
